For more than 20 years, photographer Lourdes Grobet has been part of one of the most popular sports in Mexico: wrestling. This photographic project compiles more than 500 images to reveal the fundamental elements of wrestling, highlighting its theatrics and providing a glimpse of this wildly popular ritual by letting the photographs tell the story.
A lo largo de 20 años, la fotógrafa Lourdes Grobet se ha adentrado en el mundo de uno de los deportes más populares de México: la lucha libre. Este proyecto fotográfico y documental recopila más de 500 imágenes y transmite los elementos fundamentales de la lucha libre: una manifestación de la cultura popular mexicana originada en la antigüedad, asociada a lo ritual, ligada a lo teatral y profundamente identificada con los fenómenos sociales de la actualidad.
